The Fire Pit

Well, we used to have this silly hill in our backyard with weeds all over it and broken concrete stacked on top. Daddy got it in his head to clear that spot out. So he thought, a good way to use the rocks without having to get rid of them was to build a fire pit. Of course, this meant he also had to trim the trees above it. Good thing the next door neighbor is so friendly...He loaned us some of his tools. I took a nice long nap so that Mommy was able to go out and help Daddy. After I woke up from my long nap, I came outside and sat in my stroller and watched them working. Daddy is very excited to roast marshmallows on his birthday tomorrow!
This is me watching Daddy clean up the weeds and branches he tore out.

This is our new fire pit. It used to be a big dirt pile full of weeds and concrete.
That light brownish red wood is actually an old stump that Grandpa and Grampie dug out about a year ago and left lying around. Daddy says it is so dry now that it will be just right for our fire tomorrow. It's supposed to thunderstorm tonight so Mommy and Daddy covered our pit up with a tarp so that it wouldn't get too muddy. Tomorrow should be really fun!
This is the spot where Grandpa's little boat Zacky used to be. Mommy and Daddy cleared out the muck and gunk and twigs and junk and moved the dirt from the dirt pile to here. Then after they got it all done they had to move some of the dirt back to shore up the brick wall around the fire pit. They worked very hard! Maybe you can all come roast some marshmallows with us. Mommy says they're very good but I'm too little to know that first hand.
